I will be keeping tabs on paper though, but I am truely hoping all of you will be having a safe and wonderful Christmas and a super new year. Me and my honey will not be together for Christmas this year, or New Years. *tear*, but I am sure we will stay connected some how. :D

As for the rest of life is going on very well and my only hope for the new years is to be as happpy as I am at the present time.

See you all next year.

Greed of the Holidays

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Dear Friends,

I am sure by now, you have all heard of the man who was trampled to death in a Black Friday sale, at Wal-Mart.

It sounds like a bad Arnold movie, I know, however, it is something that should be taken seriously and not swept under the rug, like many other things we chose to ignore.

Most will defended saying its the sign of the bad times we live in. However, bad times or not, its not like it was a food starved mob, running for their own survival. It was nothing more than greed.

Yes plain and simple. I don't wanna be in the skin of those holding receipts dated between the hours the store opened and the minutes after the incident. It will be difficult to celebrate the joy of the holidays, when you have someone's blood possibly in your hands or in this case under your feet.

May God, help the family of the worker live with their loss.

As for Wal-Mart shame on you. For being ill prepared to handle the people outside your store.

ACN Scam!

Today my mother asked to look up a company she was very excited to join. Of course it was one of those "too good to be true" sales pitches.

She gave me this:

http://here2helpyou.acnrep.com

Pretty professional looking site, I should know.

Of course, its me your talking about simply typing a link on the address bar isn't enough for me. So I went to Google.com, and I did a search using that link, to see if there was anything. This is what I found: http://www.myspace.com/mlnewhorizon I know what you are thinking *a very sharp contrast from the professional site, that is hosted with ACN*. My thoughts exactly! Her blog does not help either. Here are two entries that were of particular interest:

"Saturday, July 07, 2007

Subject: dedicated to all those ppls that have my money! lol!

Current mood: bitchy Check out this video: Stewie vs brian

now u know!

Subject: Crushed !!

Current mood: sad

am so sad cuz my 2 lil sister are moving way 2 Vegas for 2 hole freaking yrs, dam am going to missed them alot!!!!!! hope they change their minds, cuz other wise am so crushed with this!!!!!"

This was just what I found on the person who gave her business card to my mother. I don't know what your feelings are on the subject.

My first thought is, "Then there was the Internet". Now a days friends and family be aware of what you post on the internet, because it can come back and bite you. Its not like old days where you could be one way behind close doors and another in public.

And another thought, is maybe ACN has not taught their representatives, the way they should behave in public when associating the company name with theirs. To put it another way, when you are going to plaster the company logos on your page, you should make sure you look the part. I mean what kind of a service can I expect from a person who writes like an ill educated teenager rather than the 33 year old woman she is?

This alone prompted me to look deeper into the company and it was not log before I found things like these:

http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=4418
http://arbyte.us/blog_archive/2005/04/ACN_Pyramid_Scam.html

Important bit at the end of the article in arbyte.us/blog

"The clincher? Just 2½ weeks ago, on March 23rd, an Australian federal court found ACN in violation of §65AAC of the Trade Practices Act of 1974

http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3036
http://pure-facts.blogspot.com/
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21085901-Acn-scam-

When I came across all these it all made sense, I mean only a company with a reputation for Scamming hundreds and even thousands of dollars from people can't possibly be expected to hire intelligent well poised professionals.

Needless to say that my mother will not be joining ACN.

I hope all of you learn from this experience and ask lots of sources.

My Visit to the Dentist

My going to the dentist was a big step for me, those who know me personally know I avoid the dentist like the plague, and I know I should not, since its vital for good dental health. However, all in all I avoid it.

Until recently I began going to the dentist. In truth I have only seen 3 dentists in all my life. Which will be a shock to some since I have very good teeth, all things considered. I do brush and floss and rinse, daily so I guess that helped a lot to keep a good smile.

The first time I went to the dentist was around my 21st, birthday, and my gums were pretty bad then, do to a bike accident, I had suffered some gum detachment. Thus I had to see a dentist. The dentists name I don't remember, but the office was Dental Plus in Indio, CA.

I left that office with a beautiful smile and over the course of three weeks, I was ready for a Colgate commercial. That dentist gave me back a beautiful set of teeth, and inspired me to keep going to the dentist more often.

Of course, finances among other things kept me from going until Jan of 2006, this time, however, it was a different dentist the one in Indio Mall. Big Mistake! By then all I had to deal with was tartar, so I went to get them cleaned.

Here is where the horror story began, I was criticized for having my teeth as they were, and even told if I ever came back with teeth like that, they would be pulled out. Yeah way to frighten people.

I though it would all be words, however, once they numbed me with some gel of sorts, I was in for the torture of my life. Even with a numbing agent like that gel, the pain of having my teeth cleaned was a torture, I have hyper sensitivity to pain. So tears were coming out my eyes, throughout the procedure. The manner of the dentist was matter of fact, and cold.

Needless to say I never went back to her again.

Since I now live in the Bay Area I was in need of a dentist. To work up the courage it took me almost 3 years. I mean, I was expecting to have my teeth pulled since my last dentist told me she would pull em out if they were ever that bad, which they were to a point. So I expected the worst, and the torture as well.

So I ended up going to my boyfriend's dentist Dr. Chris Matsunaga. The people, at his office were truely night and day difference, from my last dentist, they welcomed me with a smile and were very happy to see me, and I mean truely happy none of this fake happy.

They were more interested in my feedback, than jumping to conclusions. I was called into the exam room, and of course I was a bundle of nerves, one thing I noticed though, is they did not have all the scary stuff, layed out like most offices, which is a GOOD! thing just the sight of all the pointy things makes me freak out. So that was a good change. Loved it.

The next thing I noticed was, that as soon as I took my seat in the chair the Hygenist, was reading my chart very carefully. And asking me more questions. I told her of my super bad experience with my last dentist, and she took good note, to all I said specially the pain thing.

She was super gentle in manner and very very caring. I was not looking forward to X-rays, because they make me gag. However, she ask me about that too, and of course I let her know, surprising though is she had this new thing I never seen before which prevented me from gagging while still keeping the film straight.

Then the time came for my cleaning to begin and the memory of my last cleaning came flooding my head and I started to shake from the waist down.

I asked her if I could complain of pain and she said simply raising my hand would do, she was not kidding the moment I even raised a finger she stopped. Finally instead of working with my sore gums, she got a different tool and showed it to me, and it was a flat took no points and assured me there would be next to no paint. Again she was right, she was really slow and careful and gentle while efficent, explaining everything she was doing, even to the point of telling me what tooth she was on.

She is one amazing lady, later when she was done, I was taken to another room, where I finally met Dr. Masunaga, who is the most easy going attentive, person I have yet to meet.

He explained my Xrays. And said, NO CAVITIES!, that was wonderful news to me. But I guess, the most wonderful thing, of all was his reaction after he saw my teeth cleaned and all. "I Love Your Teeth". That is the first time a dentist had said that to me. I thought he was joking but he was serious.

Made me feel good. And instead of scaring me into flossing and brushing I think it was the compliment that did it, because now I don't skip a tooth brushing after every meal.

I have never been happier with a dentist. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Ignorance and Vote

It is a common knowledge that voting age is 18, that and being a citizen of the US is basically all you need to vote. Granted that by the time you are 18 it is assumed that, your knowledge is fairly good where government is concerned.

Right! See, I have come across a lot of comments in the elections. That have made me question just how knowledgeable the voters really are about what goes on in government whether it be, city or state or even national.

For instance, on Prop. 8. Can any of you ardent supporters of it, give me one single solitary reason why you support it, that has NOTHING to do with religion. The reason I ask this is because, it's always been my understanding that religion and government don't mix.

Another example, would be something I read in the Desert Sun. Curious, all the supporters for the person who won as mayor, left messages like, "keep making Coachella beautiful"; my first thought of course was.... I sure hope you didn't vote.

The reason I say this, is because yes I am aware Coachella is facing a boom, period, for lack of better words, they have an overpass and a lot of new business.

As you can see if your brain is on, that kind of thing does not happen over night, it does not even happen in a year. Heck not even two. Now, do you understand, that some people tend to be fortunate enough to claim credit for the sweat and work of others. Those kind of things take a decade or two, and as usual the person sitting in office when they finally show, is the one accredited with it.

Let us analyze for a minute shall we?

Here we have the City of Walnut Creek, that had been planning a new library for longer than I been here and I been here almost 4 years now. The library was finally taken down recently, and won't be ready until 2010. That's just a LIBRARY, are you with me so far? Now if you just happen to relocate to Walnut Creek in 09 you would think the Mayor that year really kicks ass, cuz wow we get a shinny new library. The following year.

So next time any of you go on and say, thank you for this or that, and decide to re-elect based on the changes you see happening to your field of view, sit down and think about it hell even ask, your elected officials to show you proof, of their work, after all it is our Constitutional right to question and be informed.

Chances are like the Coachella Residents, you will be thanking the WRONG person.

Today, is the first weekend spent at home since Ian's vacation, and its been a good one. Ian's dad is still visiting until Tuesday. I must say I slept well, and woke up got things done that I wanted to acomplish.

This afternoon around noon, we went to Target, Ian says twice, since we left and went back in before driving back home. Got some personal things. When we got home, Ian's mom and dad had arrived after going out themselves. As I saw Ian's mom getting out of the car, I was thinking to myself, how happy she looked.

Yes, today was definetively a great day. The past two days, we have spent, discussing television. This time it was "Psych" vs. "The Mentalist". Ian's dad is all for "Psych", and of course it came before the "Mentalist", thus the "Mentalist" seems as a rip off of that show. It very well maybe. We were however, discussing which was better.

Of course I'm all for "The Mentalist" the show starting Simon Baker, is a about a man, whom can solve crimes based on his keen sense observation to detail. While "Psych" is about a man who has a keen sence of observation, and with it fools the police into thinking he is a psychic. Its a rather light show, with a very sorry attempt at comedy, as it only managed to make me laugh once. However, that could be because, I've become a rather serious person, with good meassure.

Usually, I don't feel as strong about TV as I have felt about these two shows. I mean, "The Mentalist" is to "Phsych" what Edward Norton's Hulk was to Ang Lee's Hulk. You got it a supreme and paramount improvement.

I mean while "The Mentalist" is thought provoking, "Psych" is far from that as it does not even allow you to think, when it literally high lights all the details you should notice. With this flaw of course, all you have to know is the "what" to figure out the "who" and the "why".

I tested this and of course, I was able to guess the above metioned withing the first five mintues of the show, which of course made the rest impossible to watch.

"The Mentalist" is like a Sherlock Holmes, more realistic, and allows you to think, then at the end solves it for you, while telling you how they solved it, thus when you watch it a second time you key in on the clues. It has rewatch value. Not to mention it has Simon Baker. Yeah, I'm a huge fan of his.

Yeah today was a good day, no stress, no bad news. Hope it continues this way, the rest of the week.

Crazy Sexy Cool
Diggin' On You
By: TLC

Today is a nice Friday morning I seem to be on top of things. To all good things however, there is a downside, today's downside is bad, as bad as they can go. I learned this week that my uncle has passed away. Needless to say, that there have been issues as to what to do with his remains. Yeah, that all coming from his family his own flesh and blood. Go figure!

All is going well on that end as I have learned. He will be missed by all including me. Mother said we were very much alike in ways we spoke, handwriting manerisms and things like that.

You must be wondering why I'm not in tears, and I wondered that myself for the first few hours of the news. However, someone very wise told me, that the reason for this is, that I been grieving him for a while now. So I am starting the recovery period, as I learned of his fatal illness a few months back.

Yesterday, Ian's dad arrived for a few days visit. So Ian and I took him out to dinner, as his mother was busy with other things at work. We had Mexican Food at my favorite restaurant, and of course I loved it, we stopped by Fry's Electronics, and looked around for a while, got a game, and enjoyed our time. Ian complemented me on being so independent. I loved that.

On our way home however, there was an accident involving the car in from of us a BMW got cliped on the front driver's side, by an SUV, I so wanted to follow him, to his his plates, yeah it was a hit and run. The car that got hit kept going. Then it drove itself, to the median and scratched its passenger door as well as longs the hub caps. It was bad, I guess we were driving with an angel in the car since we did not get into a car pile up in the middle of the highway.

We got home save and I am greatful to God for that. Well for now its all, the day as just begun for me.

MySpace Annoyances Part 1

Today I will discuss those little things that annoy the hell out of me.

Today's annoyances deal with MySpace, yup its a really awesome place that has come a long way, but lets face it some of you out there have turned it into a circus, now bare with me, since I have not found the right word to call it. Yet

Now, here is one thing, I don't understand, and its the  first thing that annoys me and upsets me greatly; I read in a bulletin as it happens. *from a trusted no bullshit source* so save me the urban legend crap.

I read, that some people are offended by pages done in memory of those who died, whether it be drunk driver or illness among other causes, and feel as well that pages like Grim Realities have no place in MySpace because of their graphic nature.  Some pages, of this kind have actually been pulled from MySpace.

People are quick to report these pages and even go as far as to make it sure Tom knows they have no place in this community, and yet, pages of porn starts with scandalous clothes, sexually sugestive poses and pages glamorizing pornography, the use of alcohol and sometimes drugs and or even violence are a dime a dozen around here.  Yet no one cares, they shrug it off as cool or as Free Speech.

It's amazing how people are quick to accept pages, of that sort, and turn a bad eye to those pages that show you the reality of life, the cause an effect of certain actions. Evil persist, when good people do nothing remember that one next time your senses get offended.

Another thing that has become worse than a Trojan horse virus is the posting of chain bulletins that have the following content.  "If you really love Jesus re-post this''.  "If you don't re-post this your mother will die".  Or my personal favorite, "I wanna see how many of you really read my posts ".  Now there is also sneaky posts that sound official and sometimes even educational. NOT!

Now, I'm probably going to sound atheist, but trust me when I say, God  has far more important things to worry about.  Than if you re-posted a bulletin or not.

The ones that threaten with you or someone you love dying if you don't re-post.  All I gotta say is WTF! Are we really that bored, are we really that stupid, is life really that insipid, that you have to amuse yourselves with seeing, who is dumb or fearful enough to repost it.

For those of you insecure few, who feel, that you need to find out who, reads your post. Therefore, you feel the need, to add the "Let's see who my true friends are" or lets see who really reads my posts" at the end, ff whatever low brainded recycled idea you post. I hope you are aware, that there is an enable comments, button, on bulletin posts. If there are no comments chances are they did not read it or had nothing to say.  Here is a original idea why not ask them directly in private, did yah ever think maybe people are more bound to respond to things written to them directly?

Seriously get yourself a new set of friends if by now you don't know who your true friends are, and who of all those so called "friends" are just useless placeholders on your page. I think its funny, how, some people go as far, as categorizing their friends, as human or none human.  Really! Are you kididng me!  If you have to go that far, in publicly humiliating the people you asked to add you in the first place, you need to re-evaluate, your reasons for adding those people in the first place.

Now for the most sneaky of bulletin posts.  The educational and or infomative sounding ones.  No shame in it, they do sound pretty darn convincing. Anyone with as little as a High School diploma, can catch the inconsistencies, in the content.  So if you post something like that without checking it first, how do you think that makes you look?

Here is something you can do, before propagating the ignorance and miss information. visit www.snopes.com this is such an epedemic now, that this site was built to dispell all urband legends and hoaxes.  Do us all a favor, and check there first, you can search by the subject or anything contained in the post.

Speaking of hoaxes, one that I find a bit cruel and even distasteful, is that of Missing people, who arent really missing.  While its not illegal *and it should be* its neither funny nor entertaining in any way shape or form. There are real families out there waiting to find they loves ones; and instead they have ot learn that the precious resources are being wasted chasing a ghost.  Here is one thing you can do to stop this.  Visit the website for Missing and Exploted Children do a name search if you can't find them there look it up on Snopes, chances are you been had.

Think twice before resposting and remember Ignorance is not always bliss.

VMA's

First of all, I know, some of you watched the VMA's.  I agree this was perhaps a little better than last year, in fact way better.

First of all Spears, managed to wear more than her underwear this time.  Gotta give her props for getting her hair to look like it used to.  I don't know about the dress though, but still a major improvement.

Here is the thing, up until this second when I heard Britney Won 3 awards she was nominated for I did a double take I mean after all, her album has not even broken the million mark in almost a year since its release. 880,000.  To be exact.

I was trying to make sense of it all, could they really be that transparent?  Then I saw the nominees, I said obvious.

She had no real competition.  Now,  if that list had the likes of Rhianna, Ciara, Janet Jackson, to name a few, then I would really believe there was favoritism, personally I found Mariah's video much more entertaining to watch than Britney's "Piece of Me".  But hey, its a matter of personal taste.  I don't settle for a barely moving Britney to satisfy the quality of a video.

I guess its because I have seen her do worlds better.

Oh well, will see if she can pull it off again next year.  Because then she will have some serious competition.

To San Jose

Current Mood: Cheerful

I have not typed in a while I know so much going on.  In my life right now.  I always seem  to be busy no?

Yeah, well what can I say. I went to San Jose yesterday with Ian, and I met his ex girlfriend, it was awesome she is actually pretty cool.  I was shocked how many things we have in common though.  Which is pretty cool hoping that I can be friends with her some day.  No kidding.

I got some advice for all of you out there regarding your ex relationships, meet the ones that were, but not in a ha ha I'm better than you thing.  But in common friendly ground.  You will learn a lot about yourselves and the person you are with.

For example her and I have a lot of things in common, and I also learned that my boyfriend has always been as wonderful as he is.  I knew that, but it was nice to know it was not a passing phase.

It was fun... hopefully we can go out again sometime :P

Oh on my visit to San Jose, I also visited the MLK Jr. Library.  Its an awesome place, I often have so much fun there.  Yum.

So anyways.  After I waited and waited, guess what.  I also went to dinner to the Mayflower Restaurant.  that was awesome.

Then some Starbucks.  Killer!

All in all it was a great day!  Hope the good news keeps coming my way.
